Arpa, the Institute of Synesthesia
Arpa is a laboratory of sensory exploration, where fragrances serve as starting points for creatives to explore synesthesia and celebrate the intersections of art, scent, and other disciplines. At Arpa, the future of fragrance engages all the senses.
SUBSTANCE
Perfume is both a weapon and a courteous gesture, a powerful addition to concentrated attention. Scent exists in everything, linking past and future, organic in its creation, leaving room for imagination. At Arpa, we work with the purest natural materials, listening to their transmissions from extra-sensory wavelengths, rejecting artificiality for joyful poetry. Our approach to perfumery is visual, rooted in our own synesthesia, aiming to convey not just a memory, but a texture. We chase a blurry image that sharpens over time.
MODULAR
Arpa is inspired by early synthesizer frequencies, creating modular sequences of seven fragrances. The seventh, "Mother," connects and intensifies the elements of the previous fragrances. Named after the muse of poetry and the arp synthesizer, Arpa honors pioneers of visionary music whose experiments with sound created rich, sensory experiences. The first sequence resonates with their legacy, through wavelengths that penetrate our cells and evoke discovery.
